Evaluation 3

Evaluation 3 As you can see from the images below these are our feedback sheets and the video of our feedback. Below the video and the questionnaire I will analyze what we received. Overall from all the feedback that received from our peers about our film it was very good. They helped us a lot with finding out what parts of our trailer could be improved on yet also informed us on the parts of our trailer where we did really well. They were very impressed when it came to the technical skills used when creating our titles. This is because we used fade to black on the titles to create a gloomy feel and it also made the production look like a real media product. Our peers were also very impressed with the use of the gun at the end to create an enigma code. It created a large amount of tension as a gun shot went off and then the screen went black this is because the audience did not know what happened. However it was good for us because it meant that the audience would want to...

How have I improved my conventions of real media texts?

How have I improved my conventions of real media texts? In this post I will be talking about both my projects and how both of them look like professional media projects. For my first project which was my AS it was not very successful with looking like a real media project. It looked very fake and looked like there was not a lot of care taken with creating the titles for example. There were no animations that were involved in the titles they just appeared on the screen and this made it look really poor and uninteresting. However when it came to creating our A2 project my group made it known to each other that we must make the titles make look more interesting. We done this by adding animations to each one. For example on the first title that came up we used a fade in which meant the title disappeared into the back of the screen. Firstly this made it look very professional yet it also helped our trailer appeal to our audience as it made it look like a mysterious action film. The fac...

Evaluation 2

Evaluation 2 In our film we use range of different types of sound. the first bit of use of sound was at the start when Ghalib who is the rich businessman receives a phone call and the ringtone goes off this shows that there is actually a conversation happening and makes the whole trailer look much more professional. The one that is the most effective however is the music that is over the top of the whole trailer. We found this non copyright music on YouTube. We felt like it was the perfect type of music as it was going to be really effective alongside our trailer. The loud thumping noise starts very slowly at the start of our trailer but as it goes further into the trailer the pace of the music starts to increase. It increases with the amount of footage we have so it is really effective. As the music increases in pace the tension increases with it. This makes our trailer look really professional as this is what real film producers do to create tension in their trailers. At the end o...

Evaluation 1

Evaluation 1 In our film there is a lot of representation to other films in our genre. Our film this year is an action film based on a kidnapping that takes place in exchange for some money. A similar film that is the same genre as ours is Taken which stars Liam Neeson. In that film his daughter is abducted and he must fight his way to try and find her. This is similar to our film as in ours someone is abducted but instead of having to fight to be able to find them a call is made by the rich businessman who abducted the brother and a deal is made with a sum of money that has to be exchanged so that the brother can be set free. So with the overall story line we have conformed to the general stereotypes of films that have abduction in them. We have done this by including different stereotypes such as the abduction in the car, exchange of money and also at the end when there is a final fight between the main character and the villain to get back the person who has been abducted. At t...

Voice Overs

Image
This video includes the voice over of our film. We talk about all the aspects of our film and we start of by talking about where the film was set and why we filmed there. We used the car park so we were able to use cars within the trailer to make it look professional and also create that real media feel. It was convenient as it was close to school and also was close to stores where we were able to buy some props for our film. Next in the video we talk about the props that we decided to buy and use. We decided to buy the gun as we knew it would make the antagonist which was the rich businessman look powerful and someone who is dangerous which is what we wanted our antagonist to look like as it was the same in similar trailers we watched that were the same genre to our film. We finally talk about the location of the trailer at the end which is a dark gloomy room. We used this location ...

Race Against Time Annotations

Image
In This video you will see some annotations as the trailer progresses. These annotations are useful as they just let you know the type of shot types that we used and why we used them. for example they created different types of atmospheres which we felt would be good for a film trailer. It also talks about the technical elements that we used within our production and how they make the trailer look event more like a real media product. So enjoy watching this short video and I hope you can see more deeply into our production.

Behind The Scenes in Our Trailer

Image
As you can see from the video above this is a video of all what happened behind the scenes when we were filming our abduction scene. This scene was one of the most important within our trailer as it was a key part to the film. It showed the audience what the film was going to be based around. As the was such an important scene we felt like it would be good to show what was going on behind the scenes. As you can see from the video it shows us coming up with how the scene is going to come together and shows us talking about what shots we were going to use. It also shows some of the filming that was taking place, this is so the audience could see the hard work we were putting in. The behind the scenes video was filmed by Leon who was also involved in the film.
