Soundtrack Research Background Music- In our film trailer we will try and put in some background music within the scene. This is what most the thrillers have these days as it causes huge tension, it is used and is very effective within the film. Background music is used to add emotion and rhythm to a film. Usually not meant to be noticeable, it often provides a tone or an emotional attitude towards the story or the characters within the film. In addition background music foreshadows a change in mood. For example dissonant music may be used in film to indicate an approaching (but not yet visible) menace or disaster. This type of music is non diegetic music this is because it is music that the characters cannot hear.
