Taken Trailer Analysis Below is the trailer from Taken which stars the well known actor Liam Neeson. Right from the start of the trailer we are introduced to the main character and someone who also has a key role in the film which is his daughter. We can see that at the start of the trailer that everything is normal and they are living their normal lives without any care or worries which is what most trailers use at the start it is a stereotype. Then things change dramatically when the phone starts to ring. You can tell the mood is changing with the change of background music. It switches to a deep sound which starts to create tension within the audience. Genre Conventions This is a mind map of action which has the main conventions of an action films. Some examples are that many action films are set in Eastern European Countries because many action films include terrorists, also many action films contain explosions and fight scenes which then suggests that there will be lots of action going in in the films. This mind map would give me some crucial ideas on what we could add to make an action film good as well what I could add to improve an action film.
