Our Storyline Idea

The Storyline for our Trailer We are hoping to create and action/thriller film that could possibly include a robbery or either a kidnapping. The kidnapping will take place because of a multi-millionaire who is holding a grudge over someone who has done him wrong in the past. The multi-millionaire phones up a couple of hitmen while he is abroad on holiday in Barcelona so he is far away and will not get caught up in the trouble, he then asks them if they can do him a favour by locating the man who is wanted and abducting him from broad daylight. He will then be taken to secret location tied up to a chair with gun pointing towards his head. Once this is done the rich businessman will be given the heads up where he will then phone one of the family members of the person who has been abducted. The businessman will then ask something along the lines of ‘I need £20 000 by midnight otherwise you can say goodbye to your little friend.’ At the start of the trailer there will be som...

Genre Conventions

Image
Genre Conventions This is a mind map of action which has the main conventions of an action films. Some examples are that many action films are set in Eastern European Countries because many action films include terrorists, also many action films contain explosions and fight scenes which then suggests that there will be lots of action going in in the films. This mind map would give me some crucial ideas on what we could add to make an action film good as well what I could add to improve an action film.   These thriller conventions will help our group decide what we could have in our film, for example we will need to add some kind of music which will have to be intense because as our film is a action thriller film there will need to be some music to make the scenes more intense. Another convention is that there needs to be a strong story line because it needs to engage the audience and bring them along with the story, if the film doesn't have a strong and engaging ...

Whiplash Trailer Analysis

Image
Whiplash Trailer Analysis The Whiplash trailer has got to be one of the best trailers I have seen in a very long time. It is very effective with the way it connects with the audience on many different levels. Whiplash is about a normal young boy who dreams to be the best one of the best drummers to have ever lived, he visits one of the best performing arts schools and this is where it all changes. Throughout the trailer there are many enigmas. From the start we are introduced to the characters and everything seems very normal, this is shown through the music in the background it is very slow and peaceful to show that the situation is normal. We meet the main character and what seems to be his partner within the first thirty seconds. We can then tell that there is a change in the mood as the music starts to suddenly get faster and more intense and this is when we are then introduced to the teacher at the performing arts school. At this part of the trailer we meet the teacher that c...

The Notebook Trailer Analysis

Image
The Notebook Trailer Analysis The notebook is your typical love story all about a couple that fall deeply in love with each other and because of family situations find it hard to become a couple but then later on in their lives reunite and live happily ever after. The notebook was a best selling film when it was released because of how effective it was to all audiences. Normally the stereotypical audience for a love story is women or girls but with this film it was so good that even men wanted to go and watch the film when it got released in the cinema. The film stars Ryan Gosling a well known actor especially to the women because of his good looks this might of been a reason as to why his name was mentioned in the trailer so that the women audience are then interested and want to watch the film. From right at the start of the trailer you can easily tell that this film is aimed at women and not men this is simply because of the music that opens the trailer, it is peaceful and th...

Legend Trailer Analysis

Image
Legend Trailer Analysis Legend featuring Tom Hardy is a film all about the Kray twins in the 1960's. The film is based around how the twins ruled London and the struggles that they went through on the rise up to the power that they held. It is also based around Ronnie Kray and the love affair that he has with his wife Francis. This film is in the genre of a gangster crime sort of film.  It is very clear through the trailer and the stereotypes that the trailer shows that it is going to be a film that has a love story behind it. From the first couple of seconds its clear that this is a gangster film with what the main characters are wearing. We are introduced to both Ronnie and Reggie Kray and they are both being drove around like they are royalty and both wearing very expensive suits showing that they are both important and wealthy which are both stereotypes of a gangster films. Also within the trailer there are short clips of fighting scenes with weapons involved as well thi...

Deadpool Poster Analysis

Image
Deadpool Poster Analysis From this poster of the recent superhero film Deadpool you can easily identify what sort of film it is going to be. However some audience members might find it a bit confusing and be totally unsure about what this film could be about. Normally when posters are released of superhero films they are made to look dramatic and intense to pull in audience members and get them attracted to the look of the film in hope that they will visit the cinema to watch it. However with this film poster it is the complete opposite, it is clear that the film is a superhero film because the main character on the poster is wearing what looks to be like a superhero costume but that character does not look serious at all. They are pulling a funny sort of pose which tells the audience that this is not going to be any normal superhero film as it will have a sort of comedy feel to it. You can also see from the poster that the main character has a rucksack on and it looks just l...

The Conjuring Trailer Analysis

Image
The Conjuring Trailer Analysis In this blog post I will be analysing the conjuring trailer, the conjuring is a horror film that created a lot of media attention all around the world. It was originally based upon a true story about a family that is haunted by a devilish spirit. It was well known that it was very successful in the cinemas and I for one know that when I watched it for the first time I knew that it was a scary film. The trailer is a very good talking point for the film, from the opening scene of the trailer it is extremely clear that the genre of this film is going to be a horror. If I had just seen this trailer for the first time I would straight away be able to tell that this is a horror film, this is because of the fact that the opening scene is in black and white and straight away you can tell from the colours that there is going to be a dark gloomy feel to the story of this film. This is because the colour black connotes death and brings upon us a bad sor...

Creativity

Creativity Where did ideas come from? Before we started creating our film of course we needed to come up with some ideas first, we could not go straight in to filming something that we had not a single clue about. So the first thing we done was create a mind map of all the ideas that came out from our group. We came up with two films that we really liked, at first we decided that we were going to attempt to make a spy film and we all thought this was going to be a good idea until later in the process we realized that we could not get together the props we needed to complete this film. So this is why we changed our idea at a late stage and we in the end decided to create a football hooligan film as we felt with the area that we were in with Leatherhead station only being a walk away it would be a good idea and in fact it could actually work. Another way of getting some of our ideas was by creating a questionnaire for our class. This was to help us get a clue of what everyone else in ...
