Spectre Trailer Analysis

Below I have the 007 Spectre trailer, it is the newest James Bond which is are films all about the famous spy James Bond. I would say that the target audience for this film is aimed at mostly males either 16-25 year old boys or even for the older generation that will enjoy it for example 25-45 year old men. I think that this film is aimed at males because of all the action and intense scenes that are included within the trailer which generally is a stereotype that males like to watch. However there could be a link towards females, as the trailer shows a relationship occurring many times with several women and this is something that stereo typically women enjoy to watch, films about love. I have chose this film trailer to analyse because it is similar to the type of film that I hope to produce in my next project, I have always wanted to create a spy film and hopefully this time I will be able to do so.

There are many conventions within this trailer. However there is no voice overs that tell the story of the film which most trailers have. although the stars of the film are showcased, especially the main actor Daniel Craig. They want the audience to see that Daniel Craig is acting in the film so that they know its going to be a good film because it has a very well known star as the main character. Another convention within the trailer is the fact that mot conversations are one liner conversations, this helps create tension as normally the one liners are dramatic. An example for a one liner in this trailer is when the women says to James "I think your just getting started" this gets you excited about the film because you want to know what she means by what she says. In this trailer I think that what they have the most of is dramatic camera angles showing events within the film. Throughout the trailer there are several jam packed scenes shown with explosions, car chases and fighting. These are included to attract the target audience and get them excited, this will then in turn make them want to go to watch the film when it is released in the cinema. As this film is spy action film it is key to include short snips of action within the trailer so that everyone can see what genre of film it is. The music that is played in the trailer is very intense and loud, this creates tension and also creates excitement to the target audience. It shows that the film is going to be good and jam packed with excitement. Music is a very important part of the trailer as it creates a general feeling of the film. For this film the title is not shown until right at the end of the trailer, this is a clever way of getting your audience to stay and watch the whole trailer because if they want to know the films name they have to watch the whole trailer first and then they are able to find out the title.

Digital Technology The software that I used for the construction of the film that we made was adobe premiere. It was very useful throughout the whole process. It helped us in creating a film that looked professional and not tacky. From right at the beginning it was very easy in finding out how to use the software and when you got the hang of it, you were able to use such things as animations, sounds and cropping clips. We used all three of these in the creation of our film. I did most the editing on our film which meant that it was up to me to make the film look professional. As I did most of the editing it meant that I felt more comfortable using the software adobe premiere. How have I improved my conventions of real media texts? In this post I will be talking about both my projects and how both of them look like professional media projects. For my first project which was my AS it was not very successful with looking like a real media project. It looked very fake and looked like there was not a lot of care taken with creating the titles for example. There were no animations that were involved in the titles they just appeared on the screen and this made it look really poor and uninteresting. However when it came to creating our A2 project my group made it known to each other that we must make the titles make look more interesting. We done this by adding animations to each one. For example on the first title that came up we used a fade in which meant the title disappeared into the back of the screen.
