The Notebook Trailer Analysis
The Notebook Trailer Analysis
The notebook is your typical love story all about a couple that fall deeply in love with each other and because of family situations find it hard to become a couple but then later on in their lives reunite and live happily ever after. The notebook was a best selling film when it was released because of how effective it was to all audiences. Normally the stereotypical audience for a love story is women or girls but with this film it was so good that even men wanted to go and watch the film when it got released in the cinema. The film stars Ryan Gosling a well known actor especially to the women because of his good looks this might of been a reason as to why his name was mentioned in the trailer so that the women audience are then interested and want to watch the film.
From right at the start of the trailer you can easily tell that this film is aimed at women and not men this is simply because of the music that opens the trailer, it is peaceful and the type of music that you will generally stereotype to be used in a romantic film. We are introduced to the main characters straight away which is a good thing because then the audience can start to relate to them. The trailer takes us on a shorter version of the film so we are shown at the start of the trailer when the couple meet, we are then shown what happened when they had to split up we are shown the difficulties they had to endure and then we are finally shown what happens when they were reunited with each other after being apart for so long. The trailer has many conventions which show that this film is going to be a romantic film first of all as i said in the previous paragraph the music used is a key point as it is clear that the type of music played would not be used in your typical action film trailer. Throughout the trailer the colour red is very noticeable it seems to be the main colour that is portrayed within the film. The colour red connotes love and affection and that is why I believe it has been used so much. Half way through the trailer we can see that the lovers hit a rough patch in their relationship where things start to go wrong, this is stereotypical to happen in a romantic film.
